CONCEPT DESIGN

This course provides a unique opportunity to develop your jewellery making practice by introducing fundamental design principles.

The course will look into core design elements and explore different ways to use these when making jewellery. By drawing ideas from the world around us, students will be guided to identify their own personal aesthetic to create a series of models which can be used as a base for jewellery pieces that may be developed in your other classes.

Each student will need to bring:

​

• a piece of jewellery they have made or drawn that they want to reconsider/rethink in terms of design

• paper and/or visual diary

• favourite drawing tool (pen, pencil, etc.)
